Overview
The Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assess various medical conditions, producing high-quality images for physician evaluation. This versatile role covers abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and musculoskeletal scans in hospitals or clinics. The ideal candidate will have expertise in ultrasound technology, patient care, and medical terminology, with experience in hospital or diagnostic imaging settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, vascular, or cardiac studies.
- Prepare and position patients for ultrasound procedures.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians to review images.
- Document procedures in EHR systems like Epic or PACS.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
